TEMPORARY MANAGERS
S.128
In the absence of the certificated duty manager a licensee
is able to appoint a Temporary Manager,
this being a person who is not the holder of a manager's certificate.
A temporary manager would be appointed in the following circumstances:
1) UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.
When the certificated manager is absent from the premises for a short period of time
(a shift or part of a shift) due to unforeseen circumstances. Eg; an emergency or sudden sickness
2) REPLACEMENT.
When a certificated manager leaves the place of employment permanently.
A person may be appointed to permanently replace the manager who
has left
If the appointment is for a period of more than 48 hours:
a. The appointee must, within two working days of the appointment,
apply for a manager's certificate.
b. The licensee must advise, in writing, within two working days,
the LLA, DLA and local police of the appointment.
ACTING MANAGERS
S.129
The licensee is also able to appoint a person as an Acting Manager
for periods while a certificated manager is absent for reasons
of ILLNESS or VACATION.
However, an Acting Manager may not be appointed for any single
period that exceeds three weeks. No total of appointment may exceed
six weeks in a twelve month period.
The licensee must advise, in writing, within two working days,
the LLA, DLA and local police if the appointment of an acting
manager is for a period of more than 48 hours
